I have made a list

Well I have had a bit of a painting depression lately. Not much have been done and I have to many projects bouncing around in my head and can't seem to start anything up. I also have a lot of projects just lying around and taking focus from me. It had been a lot of boardgames and card games instead. But in an effort to break the standstill I have made a list of things that needs to be done. Soon there is a large convention in Gothenburg and I have some things that needs to be finished for the convention. Hopefully my list will get me going. I will try to post here what has been painted and it is a lot of different things to say the least.

I will give you some pictures of the things I have painted. The miniatures are from Mantic Games and for the game Deadzone. Not the best miniatures but they are ok and easy to paint. 

My weakness as a wargamer is and have always been making terrain and a lot of my projects right now are at that crucial moment when you need something to play on. The miniatures are done but it is a sad sight to play around books and cereal boxes.

But now me and my list will go down to the bunker, that has a new table, and start working.

Somethings stirs in the basement

Well I have at last started to paint some on the Hartford. I have done test paintings on the deck and trying to learn how to approach this kind of model. I have never painted ships before and not a ship with this many little details. I do not know what colours to use and I really don´t know what colours things should be. So you can understand that I have some trouble to get this going. But I have started to read about civil war naval warfare and am starting to learn. 

I also keep painting on the 25mm Dixon miniatures. They are a joy to paint still and if I should be honest to you I paint a little to much on them... At the moment there is a cavalry miniature on the table. I have painted him as a confederate soldier with butternut jacket and brown pants. I am done with the trooper and have started on the horse.

I plan to use the Dixon miniatures in some sort of skirmish game. I have not decided on the rules jet. I will play a game of Bonnie Blue just for old times sake but after that I don´t know. O well you can have worse dilemmas than have rules to chose. At the moment I have three rule sets I want to try and hope I will be able to do that during the summer break.

I also found these two photos taken by a friend. He said I could use them here if I wanted. They are from GothCon this year and shows one of the game sessions that i ran.

It is done

Well GothCon anyways...

It was really fun at GothCon, as it is every year. I had three scheduled demo games at the convention. Two on friday and one on saturday. I had people wanting to play every time. On the third game I had seven people taking care of one division each at it was glorious confusion all over the place, loved it and I think the players liked it to. On saturday I was asked if I could do one more game. We decided that we should have a go at sunday morning so at sunday I had one extra demo game for two people who was interested in the rules and game mechanics of Volley & Bayonet. I did not do the Corinth demo then but instead I tried the rules for setting up quick battles from the rule book. That opened my eyes to the possibilities of the rules for real. So now I have to paint some more troops, can´t have enough of them buggers.

I am also preparing to do Corinth once more but with the Alter of Freedom rules. Hopefully it will happen in just a few weeks. Need to get some HQs done first.

It was a really fun time leading the game. In only one of the games the confederates managed to take Corinth. But at that time they had all their divisions exhausted and the union still had to fresh divisions so I declared it a draw.
